wedding and a honeymoon

The deed is done, I am now officially Mrs. Baker! We married on August 14th, it was so great seeing all our family and friends out there.

We were so blessed too. It was forecast to rain all weekend long and people were sure it was going to, but we had hope! Though I took precautionary measures as well. Our ceremony was at 6:30pm and the rain held out until about 9:45pm.

Though we had a little drama and mishaps (like the favors not being handed out) here and there everything turned out great.

I love my life with Josh. We have a beautiful home and I'm so thankful to have him in my life.

....

For our honeymoon, we decided to cruise down to the Bahamas. We took the Carnival "fun ship" and they sure did live up to their name. There was a casino, pools, an art museum, putt-putt golf, a club or two, it was fun for all ages. Josh and I enjoyed every minute of it! We especially loved watching all the different people on board, that was entertaining on its own! We played a lot of cards, explored the Nassau, Freeport and Key West.

We had a good time and I cannot wait to travel more places with my husband in the future!

my business venture

I want to start a new business and it's something I believe I can really enjoy and be good at doing! Making my own wedding invitations inspired me, I want to start a business designing and creating invitations, business cards, flyers, etc... I've started to collect things slowly to add to the start of my new business. Just a few weeks ago Josh and I invested in a printer to help with the process.

Well, last night we tried to print some things on a card stock paper and guess what... the printer doesn't take it. Apparently the printer specializes in photo printing. Ughhh... not what I wanted to hear! So much for getting an all in one printer. But how am I supposed to get my business started if I don't even have a printer that will do what I want!

One more thing to figure out!

18 days and counting...

A new chapter in my life is starting in just a couple short weeks. It came sooner than I expected and now it's just around the corner. After months and long hours of planning and making decision after decision my best friend and I will marry in just 18 days.

It's funny, when you're planning a wedding you constantly asked the same questions: "how are the plans coming along", "how much left do you have to do", "what does your dress look like", "what do your bridesmaids dresses look like" etc... and I pretty much give the same answer every time, "things are going great, I only have a few last details, they're black..." Don't get me wrong, I am excited to get married, guess that's the only conversation people have during that time, but only a couple more weeks of it! And finishing those last little details...

18 days and counting... and we're just now getting our marriage license today
... still need to write our vows
... get our wedding favors together
... finish putting together our programs
... put together our song selections
... print off our engagement pictures
... create a wedding weekend schedule
I'm sure there is more to do and will think of it when the time comes.

I am nervous, there are going to be so many people there. During the planning, all you can think of is who you want to invite to share this day with, family, friends, colleagues. But now I think more about it and I'm getting nervous, walking in front of all those people, all the attention will be on Josh and me... watching and listening. All I can really do is just breath.

18 days and counting... I will be Mrs. Baker.
